Ohio State Basketball: Buckeyes get third recruit with Luther Muhammad
Head coach Chris Holtmann has been on a role as of late picking up his third commit in just this week alone for Ohio State basketball.
First, it was Jaedon LeDee, and then it was Duane Washington soon after. Now, Luther Muhammad enters the fold for Ohio State basketball. A natural shooting guard, Muhammad comes in a 6’4″ and 175 pounds and can both shoot the lights out and play off the dribble. He’s also more than capable on defense, averaging a couple of steals per game in his junior year in high school.
Ohio State went hard after the guard, having him in for an official visit on Sept. 9, then a week later traveling to New Jersey for a home visit. The Buckeyes bested a number of schools, including Xavier and St. John’s.
Ranked by 247sports as the No. 71 recruit for the class of2018, Muhammad is currently the top recruit in what’s expected to be a five-player class. With starting guard Kam Williams a senior, there’s a real possibility that Muhammad will start at the two spot as a freshman.
Right now Ohio State has the 13th best-recruiting class for 2018 and with a couple more guys to pick up, there’s a chance for Holtmann and crew could have a top ten class on their hands.
And this might not be the last of recruiting news for Ohio State either. This weekend they hosted an official visit for wing Justin Ahrens, who has Ohio State competing with Michigan and Xavier for his services.

The next target will be for Holtmann to find a true point guard, who can find the new shooters coming with good passes. But considering how well the Buckeyes have been doing on the trail as of late, there shouldn’t be much doubt that they’ll find a good one.
