Louisiana Tech – February 8

I guess I just have a thing for road games and many of the same things that were said about Old Dominion apply here. The only real difference between beating the second place Bulldogs and the third place Monarchs is that Old Dominion plays a second game with Charlotte this season. Any damage done in the first game could be mitigated by beating the Monarchs in the other game in Halton Arena.

There is only one shot to get Louisiana Tech and gain an advantage over them in the jockeying for conference tournament positioning. The game will occur in February so Charlotte should be playing its best ball at that point (one can hope, injuries do happen).

If the 49ers win all five of these games then they are well on their way to a successful season and no talk of hot seats will happen for Coach Price next year. Lose all of them and the 49ers are headed back for a middling campaign and clock may start to run out for the former Georgia Tech standout.
