Connecticut Basketball: 2018 recruit Lukas Kisunas commits to Huskies
By Taylor Sturm
The Connecticut Huskies snagged a commitment from three-star, Class of 2018 center Lukas Kisunas.
Last season, the Connecticut Huskies finished with just barely a losing record at 16-17 overall, finding themselves in sixth place in the final American Athletic Conference standings and missing out on postseason play.
This season, expectations are to take a step forward, hoping that a few more pieces come together to get the Huskies back into the NCAA Tournament. The AAC is even better with the arrival of the Wichita State Shockers, so UConn will have their work cut out for them.
That being said, recruiting is key to the future of this program and UConn is getting started early with the Class of 2018. The Huskies secured a commitment from three-star, Class of 2018 center Lukas Kisunas, marking the third player to commit as a part of the Class of 2018 already.
A 6’8, 235-pound center out of New Hampshire, Kisunas is rated as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports in addition to being the No. 29 center prospect and No. 304 player overall. On Rivals, Kisunas is unranked but is listed as a three-star recruit.
Kisunas is the third player to commit to the Huskies 2018 class, joining three-star recruit Emmitt Matthews Jr. and four-star recruit James Akinjo.
While yet to break out with a major commitment, these three players are fantastic additions to the program and should all be long-term players with the team.

With a little coaching, Kisunas, Matthews, and Akinjo could be the faces of a UConn NCAA Tournament run down the road.
