Michigan Basketball: Wolverines snag class of 2018 recruit Colin Castleton
Already a great recruiting class, Michigan basketball has added another four-star prospect. Big man Colin Castleton is the latest commit for the Wolverines.
It’s been a very busy week for the Michigan basketball program. Just in this past week alone, both Adrian Nunez and Ignas Brazdeikis committed to play for John Beilein and his coaching staff.
Michigan had four prospects for 2018 ready to go with a couple of spots to fill and just took care of another one with Colin Castleton’s commitment. He’s a forward coming in at 215 pounds with a height of 6’10”. He’s a similar player to 6’9″ Brandon Johns, who committed in June.
Castleton ranks at No. 117 in the class by 247Sports. He chose Michigan over Illinois and Florida. He also had been offered by Clemson, Georgia, Florida State and Purdue. He’s a very skilled big man who averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game during his junior year in high school in Daytona Beach, Florida.
An impressive part of his game is his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. That works well with the free-flowing offense Michigan uses. He’ll be the likeliest replacement for Moritz Wagner, who hosted him during his official visit a couple of weeks ago.
This has been a tremendous summer for Beilein and company. The recruits mentioned plus highly ranked guard David DeJulius, give the Michigan Wolverines the No. 3 recruiting class in the country for 2018 per 247Sports.
