With the 2017-18 college basketball season quickly approaching, we’ve previewed the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Arkansas Razorbacks head into the 2017-18 college basketball season with high expectations after a successful 2016-17 campaign and look like a legitimate NCAA Tournament team.

While losing key pieces in the offseason, a navigable schedule and uncertainty across the SEC could lead to a 20+ win season and a trip to the Big Dance.

Here is our preview for the 2017-18 Arkansas Razorbacks:

Last Season

During the 2016-17 campaign, the Arkansas Razorbacks somewhat surprised, losing one game of their opening non-conference schedule and racking up 11 wins before falling to the Florida Gators in their first SEC game. They would then start SEC play a little shaky with three total losses in their first four conference games, but bounce back from their losses with a four-game win streak.

The “streakiness” of this team is what made them so dangerous, as they had win streaks of at least three games three separate times during conference play. Arkansas would ride that “streakiness” in both the SEC Tournament Championship game (where they would lose to the Kentucky Wildcats) and to a much-deserved trip to the 2017 NCAA Tournament as No. 8 seed.

Once in the Big Dance, they would defeat the Seton Hall Pirates in the first round and then (questionably) fall to the eventual National Champion North Carolina Tar Heels in the second round.

Overall, Arkansas would finish with a 26-10 record, improving on their win total from the previous season by an impressive 10 wins.
