Starting lineup

Josh Newkirk

The senior from Pittsburgh came into his own at the end of last year, averaging double figures during conference play and leading the team in assists. He’ll need to not only continue getting the team involved offensively, but he’ll have to up his offense as well to make up for the losses this off-season.

Robert Johnson

The second leading scorer from last year at 12.8 ppg, Johnson will have the green light to shoot at will. He increased his scoring by over five per game from the previous year, and will likely do the same this season. He’s not only just a scorer, but was second in assists and led the team in steals.

Collin Hartman

The “glue guy” of the team, Hartman does just about everything for the team. Whether it’s scoring, rebounding, passing, defense, he’s a coaches dream. But that dream was a nightmare last year when Hartman went down for the season with a knee injury to start team practices. While he may not put up too many numbers, his impact will be felt on the court.

Juwan Morgan

Due to injuries on the team, Morgan started the back half of last season, averaging 7.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg. He’s more of a defensive player with 29 blocks last season, but he’ll need to be one of the top scorers on the team this season.

De’Ron Davis

The 6’10”, 250-pound sophomore will be relied upon to anchor the post. While his 5.9 ppg and 3.1 rpg aren’t All-Conference caliber, he played much better down the stretch, including a season high 15-point effort against Ohio State.
