Georgetown Basketball: Hoyas grab another top recruit in Josh LeBlanc
By Taylor Sturm
The Georgetown Hoyas continue to recruit strongly since the hiring of school legend Patrick Ewing, adding a commitment from four-star Class of 2018 power forward Josh LeBlanc.
The 6’7, 210-pound Baton Rouge, Louisiana native played his high school basketball at Madison Prep Academy and is rated as a four-star recruit on all of the major recruiting sites. He is the No. 98 player in the ESPN 100, the No. 63 ranked player on 247 Sports, and the No. 78 ranked player on Rivals.
While listed as a power forward, he excels at driving to the basket and could be a key part of small ball lineups during his time with the Hoyas. This is a highly underrated pickup for Georgetown and he should shine in Washington, D.C.
New Georgetown coach Patrick Ewing continues to fair phenomenally when it comes to recruiting, consistently being in the conversation for some of the top prospects in the country.
Much like Avery Johnson with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ewing’s NBA pedigree will be able to bring in top prospects who wish to grow in their game and work towards the next level.
Unlike Johnson and Alabama, however, Georgetown has the history of college basketball greatness, so do not be surprised when a top 10 player in the near future decides to play for Ewing and the Hoyas.

While I do not expect this team to be great next season, Georgetown is quietly putting together an ultra-talented roster with players like LeBlanc, and it should not be long before they begin to compete once again in the Big East.
