Jamie Dixon continues to succeed with the TCU Horned Frogs, as he reeled in a four-star Class of 2018 recruit in Kaden Archie.

The TCU Horned Frogs received a commitment from four-star Class of 2018 recruit Kaden Archie.

Archie, a 6’6, 200-pound small forward from Midlothian, TX, played high school basketball at Midlothian, which is just over 30 miles from TCU. Rated as the No. 85 overall player in the Class of 2018 by Rivals, he slipped down the 247 Sports recruiting rankings to be the No. 107 player on the 247 Sports Composite.

The potential is clearly there for Archie to be a fantastic player for the Horned Frogs, and he should find himself a focal point of this team for years to come.

Archie had narrowed his list to Arkansas, Kansas, Florida, LSU, SMU, Texas, Virginia, and TCU in mid-August, but it was clear that he was leaning towards a team somewhere in his home state of Texas as he visited both TCU and SMU in September.

Oddly enough, Archie’s latest visit was to LSU on September 23, where, after meeting with Will Wade and Co., it looks like he decided to choose TCU.

The Horned Frogs are expected to take a step forward next season and contend in the Big 12. While I doubt any team usurps Kansas in the regular season standings, TCU has what it takes to go on a deep NCAA Tournament run.

Jamie Dixon continues to make this program better since his arrival from Pittsburgh, and the addition of players like Archie are an even better sign for the future.
