Nevada basketball’s vision of positionless basketball continues with the commitment of class of 2018 versatile forward Vincent Lee.
After going after a bunch of players via transfers, Nevada has gone back to the high school well. Their first commit for 2018 was KJ Hymes, a 6’10” athletic forward. With their second commitment, they doubled up on the frontcourt with Vincent Lee, a 6’7″ forward who can play either the three or the four spot.
Lee’s list of offers included BYU, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, and several others. He decided on Nevada right after taking an official visit to the program this past weekend. He wasn’t heavily recruited until he attended the Pangos All-American camp, where he turned heads and received plenty of offers.
A three-star prospect, Lee likes to operate more in the post than on the perimeter. He took very few 3-pointers last season in high school and uses his athleticism to put himself in advantageous situations. For the season, though, Lee was able to 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a junior.
Along with Hymes, Lee will be part of the next group of Wolf Pack frontcourt players. Neither will play much in their first season, considering that all the current guys on the roster are upperclassmen. Considering that he’s still growing as a basketball player and is nowhere near his peak, he’s a great candidate to sit out a season and continue to work on his game.

At 6’7″ and 195 pounds, his size could be a problem if he only operates in the post and doesn’t take perimeter shots. Lee will have to extend his range to be a more productive player in division one basketball. But if he continues on this trajectory, the Wolf Pack will get another good player to operate in their system.
