Key Reserves

Michael Nzei

Nzei earned a major role off the bench last season and should be the sixth man as a junior. Nzei is not a skilled offensive player, but he makes up for it with his energy and aggressiveness on the boards. He is very athletic for a frontcourt player and will play both big man positions this season. Nzei averaged 4.3 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 18 mpg.

Jordan Walker

Walker may be the most important reserve as he will need to give the Pirates quality minutes at point guard. The 5’11’’ guard is known for his scoring abilities and should provide an offensive spark as a reserve. Expect Walker to play with Carrington to get him additional shooting opportunities as well as being his primary backup.

Myles Cale and Eron Gordon

Cale was the highest rated newcomer for Seton Hall. The 6’5’’ wing is a very good athlete and is one of Seton Hall’s future building blocks. He will compete with sophomore guard Eron Gordon for a spot in the rotation. Gordon is the only player who was out of the rotation last season to return and he could be rewarded with more consistent playing time. The 6’3’’ sophomore has some point guard skills and has glue guy potential, but only played 73 minutes as a freshman. There is likely only room for one of the two guards in the Seton Hall rotation this season.

Sandro Mamukelashvili

Mamukelashvili has impressed in the preseason and is poised for a spot in the rotation. The 6’10’’ freshman is very skilled offensively and can play both big man positions. His shooting ability provides a nice contrast to the interior scoring styles of Delgado, Sanogo, and Nzei which could lead to additional playing time.

Romaro Gill

Gill is an enormous JUCO transfer who will provide frontcourt depth. The 7’2’’ center adds size and rim protection, but his playing time will be matchup dependent.
