College basketball season is upon us. Here are 68 reasons why you should be excited about the sensational 2017-18 season coming up.

Before getting into the reasons to be psyched up for this upcoming season, let’s quickly give an ode to the 2016-17 season and all the joy (and misery) it brought us all. In the sequel to the incredible finish of the 2015-16 season that saw Kris Jenkins bury the game-winning 3-point shot in the National Championship, there were several amazing storylines.

The powerhouses remained as incredible as ever, with teams like North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, and Duke all receiving high seeds, but we also saw the resurgence of others. Most notably, UCLA head coach Steve Alford was taken off the proverbial hot seat by a stellar freshman class including first-round picks Lonzo Ball and T.J. Leaf. Oh, and speaking of Ball, we were introduced to his father, LaVar, who continued to make headlines well into the offseason.

In addition, we finally saw the Gonzaga Bulldogs break through and make the deep NCAA Tournament run that everyone was expecting out of them. In the end, though, the Bulldogs did not have enough to knock off the North Carolina Tar Heels in the championship game as Roy Williams was able to get his revenge for the buzzer-beating loss he suffered to end the championship game prior.

Enough talk about the 2016-17 season, though. A new season is upon us and games across the country will be tipping off throughout the next several months. So, if you’re not already pumped for the new year, here are 68 reasons why you should be turning on television this season to tune in for some college hoops.
