After dropping both of their games the previous week, the Hawkeyes responded by winning their only game this past week. However, this team still has way too many question marks. Their season is less than impressive thus far, as losses to teams like Louisiana and South Dakota State still stand out.

The win that Fran McCaffrey’s team did pick up was a 90-64 win over the Drake Bulldogs in Des Moines. Although this was a blowout win for the Hawkeyes, the Bulldogs really aren’t a strong team this year. Tyler Cook led the way for Iowa with 23 points.

The Hawkeyes are still 0-6 against the RPI top-200, according to CBS Sports. This stat alone really highlights the struggles for them this season. Currently, Iowa is ranked No. 212 in the RPI rankings.

Outside of Cook’s 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, Jordan Bohannon has added 12.7 points and 4.7 assists per game while Isaiah Moss currently holds a scoring average of 11.4 points per game.

These are the only Iowa players who average in double figures thus far, so someone really needs to step up for the Hawkeyes if they want to turn their season around.

Schedule for this week:

  • Southern Utah (6-4) at Iowa on Dec. 19
  • Iowa vs. Colorado (8-3) in Sioux Falls, SD on Dec. 22
