The Florida Gators travel to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday night. Who comes out on top between two teams that are or were once ranked inside the top ten?

TV Schedule: Tuesday, Jan. 2, 9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2

Arena: Reed Arena, College Station, Texas

Despite losing several of their key players for different games this season, the Texas A&M Aggies have looked strong.

Their lone loss had been to the Arizona Wildcats, a team that continues to rise after being ranked inside the top five this preseason, before their recent road loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama’s perimeter defense, combined with foul trouble for the Aggies, led to the upset, but, more often than not, a desperate home team is going to win a game or two over top teams in the SEC.

Florida, on the other hand, has quickly fallen from grace after their strong start to the season and near defeat of then-No. 1 Duke Blue Devils. Losing four of their last eight, you never know quite what you are going to get with this Gators’ team. They followed a loss to Loyola-Chicago with a win over then-No. 17 Cincinnati and then followed that with a loss to Clemson.

The Gators have, however, won their last three games and are hoping to put a stamp on this streak with a road win over the Aggies. If this team stays hot from three, and upset can definitely happen.

Unfortunately, I do not believe many teams can compete with the depth and talent that is on this Aggies’ roster. Tyler Davis should easily cruise to a double-double, and I’m expecting big things from Robert Williams.

These are both Sweet Sixteen-ready squads, but Texas A&M is winning at home – especially after the loss to Alabama.
