After a crazy week in college basketball that saw top-25 teams drop like flies, check out our newest edition of the Bracketology’s projected field.

This last week was an interesting one, to say the least. We saw some of the top teams in the entire nation fall in head-scratching losses and several teams fail to hang onto what could have been resume-building wins. Of course, this incredible string of days led to quite the rearranging in this week’s AP poll, but it also had an impact on our projected field.

In last week’s edition, the No. 1 seeds were Villanova, Duke, Michigan State, and Arizona State. Of these four, the only team to survive the week without a loss was Villanova. In fact, not only did the other three teams drop games, they all lost to unranked opponents. With this being said, there were several teams just below the top line last week that were able to swoop in and pick up a spot on the one line.

To put into perspective just how crazy this last week was, here is a look at which top-25 teams suffered defeats over the weekend alone.

As you can tell, there are not many teams who came out unscathed. In this edition of Bracketology, our projected field makes several changes that really shake up the positioning of teams, conferences, and the bubble.

There is still an immense amount of time left in the regular season but that once again means that there is an awful lot of freedom for movement within the bracket or for the teams that are on the outside-looking-in.

The following projected field is updated based on the games played through January 8th, 2017.
