There were numerous surprises last week in college basketball. So, after last week’s action, where does each Big Ten team stack up?

Obviously, the biggest storyline in the conference was Ohio State’s rout of former No. 1 ranked Michigan State on Sunday. The Buckeyes completely dominated in the 80-64 blowout victory. This team looks very tough early on in conference play.

The Spartans, however, remained in the AP top-10 this week at No. 4. Purdue continues to rise in the rankings, as they came in at no. 5 in this week’s rankings.

Outside of these two teams, no other Big Ten team is ranked. But, teams like Ohio State and Michigan both received some votes in this week’s rankings, and will likely crack the top-25 at some point.

Last week proved that there are no easy games in the Big Ten this year. For instance, a team like Iowa, who has started 0-5 in the conference, was thought to be a potential top-5 team in the Big Ten prior to this season. The Hawkeyes are still a tough team.

Although the conference may not be as good overall as in years previous, there still should be multiple teams that receive bids for the NCAA tournament. See how each team improved or hurt their tournament resume in this week’s power rankings.
