After a busy week in college basketball that included the Bracket Preview of the committee’s top-16 teams, we are back with another edition of Bracketology.

Welcome back to Bracketology! After a little over a week off, the projected field is back with plenty of shifting. Although there were several big games over the past eight days, the biggest news in regards to Bracketology came with the NCAA Tournament selection committee’s Bracket Preview. In their release of the top-16 teams, we figured out a bit about how they are going to select and seed teams this season.

Taking this into account, the top four seeds in my projected field this week are reflective of those rankings. For those who have not followed my projected field over the past couple of years, my goal with each edition of Bracketology is to predict what the committee thinking. Since the selection committee gave us their top-16, there is no reason not to assume those are the 1-4 seeds at the current moment.

With that being said, the rest of the seedings this week have changed a fair amount based on what the committee gave us over the weekend. It was clear from their top-16 that Group 1/2 wins are extremely valuable and having a number of those wins can help push a bubble team into strong consideration. This has caused several shifts on the bubble and in the middle of the seed lines.

Now, let’s jump into the field entering the play on Feb. 13.
