The Red Raiders has an opportunity to dethrone Kansas from their perch on top of the Big 12. Here’s five questions concerning the game on Saturday.

TV schedule: Saturday, February 24, 4:15 p.m. ET. ESPN

Arena: United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas

After a great non-conference from literally the top to bottom, it was expected to be the toughest Big 12 season that Kansas 22-6 (11-4) have faced since the beginning of their 13 year run on top of the conference.

There was the legendary start of Trae Young of Oklahoma, where the star freshman seemed intent on making the Sooners viable for the title. Same was being said of West Virginia, led by senior Jevon Carter, whose defense was sure to make the Jayhawks miserable.

But those teams both fell by the wayside, leaving Kansas on the path to another regular season title. But one team has stuck around and is still within range to take away their trophy.

Before Big 12 play started, I did a power rankings of each team. It was hard, considering how well each team did. But someone had to be last. I choose the Red Raiders, because they were the team I believed in the least.

Boy, was I an idiot for that one.

Texas 22-6 (10-5) has been one of the biggest surprises in the nation, led by point guard Keenan Evans. In a league full of great point guards, the senior leader has separated himself from the rest, becoming one of the MVP’s of the league.

But there are questions about both him and his teammates about whether they’re ready to beat Kansas, in the most important game of the season. In fact here’s five specific inquires about this upcoming game.
