Mid-major conference tournaments are getting underway this week and our latest edition of Bracketology looks at the projected field as it stands.

There has been a lot of action since the Feb. 23 Bracketology update. Just about every team in the nation played a game over the weekend and that caused a lot of shifting. However, with resumes fairly stable at this time of the year, very few seeds changed. The bubble continues to get smaller as teams drop off and others find their positions to be more stable.

The regular season has come to a close for mid-majors (and the Big Ten) around the country and the conference tournaments are upon us. This is one of the most exciting times of the year as teams start to lock up their automatic bids. These are some of the most hard-fought battles of the year as teams pour their hearts out of hoping to win the tournament and hear their name called on Selection Sunday.

In honor of mid-major conference tournaments, this edition of Bracketology will also be giving an “underdog to watch” in each region. These are double-digit seeds only that have enough talent to make at least a run to the second weekend of the Big Dance. While obviously some of them will fall short, these are some of the teams that I believe are worth taking a second look at before selecting the better seed in your bracket.

So, with less than two weeks left until Selection Sunday, let’s jump into my projected field, taking into account finals through Feb. 26.
