After a competitive regular season, the Southern Conference Tournament is about to get underway. Which teams can win the title and reach the Big Dance?

Mid-major tournaments have arrived. Over the next couple of weeks, teams from around the country will be punching their tickets to the NCAA Tournament. With the ever-valuable automatic bid in sight for mid-major teams, this set of games marks the culmination of this season for each and every program. Mid-major teams have spent all year prepping for this tournament in hopes of hearing their name called on Selection Sunday.

It might not be right that so many bids come down to solely the conference tournaments but it sure makes for compelling competition. For those of you who not have followed the lower conferences this year, it is time to take note. These postseason matchups are hard-fought and fun to watch for all 40 (or more) minutes.

With the SoCon in mind for this preview, there are five teams that all could make a splash in the NCAA Tournament in my opinion. While UNC-Greensboro has swooped in to take the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, East Tennessee State feels like the favorite to win the whole thing.

In addition, Mercer and Furman are each riding major winning streaks heading into the bracket. These are trendy picks that could keep their hot stretch of play going into March. Lastly, Wofford is a dangerous team because of their high-powered offense. If the Terriers catch fire from deep, the automatic bid could be theirs.
