WCC Bracketology

Gonzaga is a lock for the tournament but the same cannot be said for St. Mary’s. Neither team is getting much respect in projected brackets. Busting Brackets’ Bracketology has Gonzaga as a No. 5 seed and St. Mary’s as a No. 10 seed. Joe Lunardi’s predictions completely agree.

If either of them win the conference title, it’ll likely move them up one or two spots. If the Gaels can knock off the Zags, you could see a jump of three or four seeds even.  On the flip side, a loss by either team to anyone else in the tournament would see their seeding take a tumble.

This could be a three-bid league if another team manages to knock off the two big boys, but if that happens, St. Mary’s will be sweating a lot more on Selection Sunday. If that third team is BYU, they could earn a seed somewhere in the 12-14 range, but any other team would be a 14 seed at best.
