Duke’s Marvin Bagley III swept the major awards, while the North Carolina Tar Heels were well-represented on the All-ACC First Team.

Another exciting ACC season closed on Saturday. That means another list of All-ACC team members and conference award winners were announced Sunday.

Duke’s Marvin Bagley III won the ACC Player of the Year award in a runaway race, with Boston College’s Jerome Robinson finishing 23 votes behind him. Bagley’s Rookie of the Year victory was even more dominant, with only one other player even receiving a vote.

Most of the individual awards wound up being landslide victories for the major figures involved. Virginia’s Tony Bennett cruised to ACC Coach of the Year. His ace defender Isaiah Wilkins accumulated SIX TIMES the amount of votes second place did in ACC Defensive Player of the Year. North Carolina’s Luke Maye lapped the field for ACC Most Improved Player.

The All-ACC teams brought a little bit more intrigue. Bagley III was the lone Blue Devil to place on the First Team. He was joined by two Tobacco Road rivals (Maye, Joel Berry II), as well as Robinson and Virginia’s Kyle Guy.

The Second Team All-ACC roster consisted of Syracuse’s Tyus Battle, Clemson’s Marcquise Reed, Virginia’s Devon Hall, Duke’s Wendell Carter Jr., and Virginia Tech’s Justin Robinson. The Third Team included Duke’s Grayson Allen, Notre Dame’s Matt Farrell, Virginia’s Ty Jerome, Georgia Tech’s Josh Okogie, and NC State’s Omer Yurtseven.

There are plenty of takeaways to be had from this announcement as the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament nears. Here are a few rapid-fire reactions.
