Marquette

This team from the Big East had a somewhat understated NCAA Tournament resume, but the Golden Eagles were a pretty competitive team all season. In the end, losses to St. John’s and Depaul were too much to overcome for Marquette.

The question marks arise when considering that Butler, who had a pretty close resume to Marquette, got into the tournament comfortably, while Marquette was not even a team in the first four out.

The backcourt of Rowsey, Hauser, and Howard is one of the best backcourts in the country, but they will have to show their talent in one of the other postseason tournaments. If Markus Howard returns to Marquette next year, this team could definitely compete for a 2019 NCAA Tournament bid.

Would it have been fun to watch the team take on a possible NCAA Tournament run? Yes. Did they do enough to get into the tournament? Obviously not.
