Share the ball

The Bearcats are a balanced bunch on offense as four players score in double figures (Clark, Jacob Evans, Washington, and Jarron Cumberland). They are also an unselfish team that keeps the ball moving (16 assists per game). The way they share the ball and their ability to score from all positions make the Bearcats a tough offense to prepare against.

Cincinnati will make Georgia State expend plenty of energy on defense by patiently running its offense in halfcourt sets. The Bearcats will move the ball until they find a good shot. They should have success feeding the ball into the paint and working an inside-out approach.

The Bearcats can play through Clark and Evans on offense as these are their two leading scorers and each is a capable playmaker. The frontcourt is this team’s strength, but the backcourt is effective at distributing the ball. Cumberland, Cane Broome, and Justin Jenifer can all facilitate the Bearcats’ halfcourt offense.

Moreover, the Bearcats’ tendency to wear down opponents and move the ball causes tired defenders to commit fouls.
