Can Clemson play with college basketball’s best teams? The rest of the country is taking notice as the Tigers routed Auburn in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday. Here are three takeaways.

The Clemson Tigers are on to the sweet sixteen, and there was hardly ever a doubt. Entering Sunday night’s second round matchup as the five seed in the Midwest region against the fourth-seeded Auburn Tigers, it looked to be a close matchup with a lot on the line.

A lot may still have been on the line, but it wasn’t much of a matchup at all, as Clemson dispatched the SEC champions pretty much from start to finish. The 31 point victory may have flown under the radar considering all of the major upsets that happened on Sunday, but it does set up a fascinating matchup with Kansas.

With such a lopsided result, it is hard to find takeaways from this one for the Tigers to really chew on ahead of their game with Kansas. The only major concern would be a letdown against a much stronger Jayhawks team or an unfavorable clash stylistically for Clemson.

All concerns aside, Clemson is looking really strong and appears to be playing their best basketball of the season. Here are three takeaways that will encourage Tiger fans following the second round thrashing of Auburn.
