Fit with the Vanderbilt Commodores

Vanderbilt is coming off of a shaky season. Despite being led by a trio of talented seniors, the Commodores went just 12-20 (6-12 SEC) on the season. Bryce Drew was never able to get his team into a rhythm as their largest winning streak was just two games. This was far from ideal but it provides an opportunity for Romeo Langford to help turn things around.

Langford will be one of the best players on his team next season regardless of where he goes. At Vanderbilt, though, the guard would join an elite recruiting class that can grow together throughout the next year. Coach Drew has already signed the best class in program history with three incredible signings. Their class currently ranks 8th in the country.

Both Simisola Shittu and Darius Garland are top-15 players in the class. Add in Aaron Nesmith, the No. 64 ranked recruit in the country, and the Commodores already have a young core with a bright future. Still, it is never easy for just a few freshmen to carry a team to the NCAA Tournament. If Langford elects to join his freshmen comrades, then Vanderbilt will jump into the conversation of being able to compete with the best in the SEC.

With Shittu (PF), Garland (PG), and Nesmith (SF) already locked into the starting lineup, Langford would fill a logical hole in Nashville as the starting shooting guard.
