Fit with the Kansas Jayhawks

If Langford wants to win an NCAA Championship in his lone collegiate season, Kansas should be the easy choice. The Jayhawks return one of the best rosters in the nation for 2018-19 while also bringing an elite recruiting class that is somewhat overlooked. While fellow bluebloods Duke and Kentucky have racked up headlines with their commitments, the Jayhawks’ class has slid into the No. 6 spot in the country somewhat under the radar.

If Langford is to join that group, then Kansas will move up the rankings even more. The Jayhawks are already likely to be the preseason No. 1 team in the country and the title favorites. With Langford potentially joining, head coach Bill Self might have his most complete roster in some time. Although young, that has not stopped him from developing his stars prior to March in the past.

With Malik Newman and Lagerald Vick both heading to the NBA, there is a sizable hole in the rotation for next season that Langford could fill. There is no doubt in my mind that Langford would make the Jayhawks the overwhelming favorite to win the title in the preseason. However, with the other two teams in consideration, it is far from a sure thing that Langford will choose KU.

Next: Which teams are chasing Armaan Franklin?

In fact, my final prediction moves away from Lawrence and lands closer to home in Bloomington. Based on the reasoning presented above for his potential decision, I think that Langford will end up playing for the Indiana Hoosiers.
