It’s time to take one final look into ACC Basketball for the 2017-18 season. Here are the final power rankings and grades for each individual team in the league.

15. Pittsburgh Panthers 8-24 (0-18)

2017-18 postseason result: None

Season Grade: D-

This was always expected to be a rough season for the Panthers, but after losing four of their first five games, there were fears that this would’ve been a historically awful season. However, winning seven of eight games to end the non-conference turned out to be the highlight of the season.

Unfortunately, that was also around the time when Pittsburgh lost the team’s best player – Ryan Luther, who was averaging a double-double at the time of his season-ending knee injury.

The hope was that the team could win at least one ACC game, but weren’t even competitive in most of the games. This season was a failure, but I can’t go for an “F” since they did lose their best player.

14. Wake Forest Demon Deacons 11-20 (4-14)

2017-18 postseason result: None

Season Grade: F

Pittsburgh was expected somewhat to finish last. Wake Forest, however, had no reason to be in this position. But clearly, John Collins was worth around 10 wins to this team.

Early losses to Georgia Southern, Liberty, and Drake doomed them from the start, and the team lost seven straight ACC games after beating Syracuse. Even after losing Collins, this would’ve been a team fighting for an at-large bid, not reverting back to the years before last.

A good recruiting class is coming in, and for Wake Forest’s sake, each of them better be an impact player out the gate.

13. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 13-19 (6-12)

2017-18 postseason result: None

Season Grade: D-

This was a step back for the program, thanks to the players. Josh Okogie and Tadric Jackson were suspended to start the season, eliminating any hope the team had for a good season. The loss to Grambling may have been the most embarrassing lost a power conference team had in the regular season.

Georgia Tech took opponents by surprise with the team’s defensive tenacity, but teams were ready for them this time around. Having one of the worst offenses in the country made matters even worse for them.
