With the NBA playoffs starting up, we decided to take a look at which NCAA Basketball schools have produced the best current NBA players.

The NBA playoffs are underway, and here at Busting Brackets we couldn’t help but view the games through a college basketball lens.

While watching some of the early first-round games, with both rookies and veterans from Kentucky and Duke making an impact, I began to daydream about who would win a Blue Devils-Wildcats NBA alumni matchup.

Much has been made of the NBA factories at places like Kentucky and Duke over the last several years, whether they are good or bad for basketball, but those two schools are not the only ones that could field a strong NBA squad.

After combing through Basketball Reference for hours, I tried to come up with the 16 best alumni-based teams to compete in a hypothetical NBA playoffs.

The only rules are that the players must have played in the NBA or been on NBA rosters this season, and for a school to qualify, they must have seven or more players currently playing in the league.

Why seven? Eight-ish is a usual playoff rotation for an NBA team, but several schools had only seven current alumni.

Here are the squads I came up with, feel free to add players and even whole teams in the comments.
