B. 15 Seasons. Head Coach. North Carolina Tar Heels. ROY WILLIAMS

Let’s grade how Roy Williams and staff did this season. Well it was the most losses they have had since the 2014-15 season. On the other hand though North Carolina was basically a win away from landing a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. And the team they lost to in the ACC Championship was the first to fall to a 16 seed. What a wacky year.

Anyways I think North Carolina handled themselves very nicely this season. They made back-to-back National Championships. What more can you ask for? They knew this season wasn’t going to be Championship or bust like the previous two. They lost quite a bit in their front court and their recruiting class didn’t feature a five-star.

This team finished 11-7 in the ACC, but fell to the sixth seed. From there though they ran all the way to the ACC Championship. All of a sudden, the offensive blunder against Michigan State and the embarrassment to Wofford was quickly erased. They still landed a two seed, one a game and then fell to a much bigger team.

North Carolina won games by doing what they do best and lost games because of their flaws. They win when they control the offensive glass. UNC loses when they can’t win the overall paint game. That’s exactly why they got bounced in the second round. Despite the turnover in players and the amount of losses, North Carolina still showed why they’re a powerhouse year in and year out.
