B. Junior, 11.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists. Guard. North Carolina Tar Heels. KENNY WILLIAMS

Kenny Williams: If there was going to be a candidate for a Tar Heel breaking out, Williams was certainly high on the list. Luke Maye was the obvious choice. Williams saw his 2016-17 season shortened though, but from what we do remember, it was that he could contribute at times.

That’s exactly what Williams did this entire season. He played in all 37 games and started all but one. Williams quickly turned into one of the lethal shooting guards that North Carolina thrives on. It was the Williams and Joel Berry show to start the season. It turned into a trifecta of those two and Johnson for the second half of the season.

Williams was actually a higher rated recruit than Maye in 2015. He was a four-star shooting guard ranked inside the top-100. Berry did struggle to have confidence in his shot at times this season. The reason that the Tar Heels once again did so good is because Williams and Johnson were willing to become big time scorers.

He went from being a part-time starter to one of the most reliable players Roy Williams has. There’s not a whole lot of other players who you knew was going to perform well each and every night. This guard was UNC’s guy in transition when they needed a big time bucket. He’ll be back again next season as one of their go to players.
