NBA Draft 2018: Mock First Round Projections 1.0
10. Philadelphia (from LA Lakers): Miles Bridges, SF
The 76ers have emerged from a very bad place and have since become one of the eastern conference’s top teams. Now looking to refine their roster, Philadelphia is searching for a piece just like Bridges to complement their young stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
Bridges is not a player to build a franchise around, but he fits the 76ers well because he has a lot of different skills. He is a strong defender, solid shooter, and smart player with sound decision-making. Given the other options with this #10 overall pick, Philly would be wise to go with someone in who they more or less know what they’re getting.
9. New York: Collin Sexton, PG
If there is any guard in this class ready for the bright lights of New York, it’s Alabama’s, Collin Sexton. The freshman phenom was the reason the Crimson Tide made a late push to secure an at large bid in the NCAA tournament and advance to the round of 32. He fits the mold needed to be a Knick both with his play on the floor and his personality.
Sexton is a strong defensive player who is still developing on the offensive side of the floor. The good news is, his first instinct is always to drive to the basket, which is key. He is also when the game is on the line, coming through in the clutch throughout the SEC Tournament.
