26. Philadelphia: Vincent Edwards, SF

The 76ers have gone through a complete transformation over the past few seasons, going from being in the NBA’s cellar to being a finals contender who has yet to be eliminated. And to make matters better, the Sixers have two first round picks, this one, and the tenth overall.

With most of the pieces in place, Philly should use these picks to ensure that their bench is as deep as possible. These picks shouldn’t be risks. While Edwards isn’t this high on most mock drafts, he fits this role as a four-year player because whoever takes Edwards pretty much knows what they’re getting.

25. LA Lakers (from Cleveland): Khyri Thomas, SG

It will be hard to the Lakers at this point of the first round to pass up a 40.6% career three point shooter at Creighton. The sharp shooter can also defend at a high level, something else the Lakers are going to need if they ever want to compete in the western conference again.

With this being the Lakers’ only pick of the first round and highest pick of the draft, many would expect a player who can create his own shot, someone who would fit in under the bright lights of LA. But if they’re smart, Los Angeles will trust the process and take the best player remaining who will best meet their needs. Like it or not, that player is Thomas.
