With so much changing for these teams ahead of the 2018-19 NCAA Basketball season, each has a lot to make up for as they will miss this year’s seniors and top underclassmen.

There is a lot that goes into a successful college basketball season. So much preparation and dedication long before the final four and even long before the opening tip of the opening game is put in. Ultimately though, a pattern has emerged that the most talented teams still advance the vast majority of the time.

No matter what, talented players are what teams need, and acquiring this talent begins at the recruiting stage. Sometimes, this phase is so critical for teams, as seniors graduate and players move on.

This season, seniors were such a large part of the success of the elite teams in college basketball. Players who will now be moving to the NBA shy of graduating also had a substantial impact. Replacing some of the top talents in the country is not a simple task, even for some of the most prestigious basketball reputations.

This is exactly why the following three teams have a lot on their plate this offseason. Though they each made deep runs in the tournament, and still have talent without a doubt, what they lost may just be too much to overcome to repeat their seasons next year.

Recruiting is essential for these three, as well as the occasional transfer they may be able to land. This is really the only way they will be able to find the same success short of a miracle. These three teams have lost a lot.
