NCAA Basketball: 3 Biggest Remaining “Sleeper” Transfers Available
3. G Nat Dixon, Chattanooga
Nat Dixon scored with reckless abandon on behalf of the Chattanooga Mocs last season. The junior made the most of his playing time being doubled, averaging 13.8 points per game, which led the team.
Dixon also grabbed 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range.
The guard has had no shortage of suitors, mostly hailing from power conferences. Just last week, The Athletic reported that Dixon was set to visit Ole Miss, a team in need of a scoring punch at guard.
Dixon also visited Penn State and Wake Forest in recent weeks, two teams decimated by surprising NBA Draft decisions. There may be a role for him with the former, since Tony Carr chose to sign with an agent and remain in the NBA Draft. The Nittany Lions were knocking on the door last season and don’t want to take a major step back in 2018-19.
Other teams who have reached out to the guard include Memphis, Creighton, Troy, South Alabama and UAB. There were also rumors of a potential meeting with Xavier after their new coaching staff took shape.
One of the best parts of Dixon is his eligibility status: as a graduate transfer, he won’t have to miss a year.
