Prized recruit Brandon Williams is set to make his big decision on Saturday. How will it impact the three teams that are involved?
With Romeo Langford’s announcement that he’ll be staying local and will play for the Indiana Hoosiers, that means there are only two prized recruits left. One of them is Brandon Williams, a 6’2 point guard out of Encino, California.
His recruitment has been intriguing, having already committed to the Arizona Wildcats to start out this past season. Alleged recruiting violations and possible sanctions caused him to pull his commitment, but they have a good chance of getting him back.
Another Pac-12 team looking to grab him are is the Oregon Ducks, who arguably already has the best recruiting class in program history. Getting Williams would not only solidify that but possibly put them in the same conversation as the Duke Blue Devils historic 2018 group of incoming freshmen.
Last but not least are the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who have a couple of good newcomers themselves. But they aren’t on the same level as Williams, who could be the missing piece for another Final Four run.
Besides the obvious impact on the court, there are off-the-court implications for each program as well when it comes to getting Williams. Each stands to benefit big-time, just in different ways. Here’s a look at what William’s pending commitment potentially means.
