Under Dave Rose, BYU Basketball has had a successful reign over the last 13 years. Here are the 15 players who helped make that happen.

Since the start of the 2005-06 college basketball season, less than 10 active head coaches have led their respective team to at least 20 wins each year. One of them is Dave Rose, who started with Brigham Young University that season and has been the model of consistency ever since.

After missing out on the Big Dance in his first season, his teams made the NCAA Tournament six straight years, including the program’s second-ever Elite Eight appearance in 2011. It was the last season for BYU in the Mountain West, before leaving for the West Coast Conference.

In the six seasons in the WCC, the results have been at best mixed. They’ve been able to make the Big Dance three times (which is still good considering the issues mid-major conferences has had getting multiple bids) while getting more wins against powerhouse Gonzaga than any other program in the league. They haven’t been able to win a conference title yet, but it’s understandable considering that the Bulldogs are a top-15 program in the country at this point.

BYU is a unique job, thanks to it’s affiliation to the Mormon Church. To some degree, it restricts them from a good portion of college basketball players, which makes things harder in the new era of transfers.

But Rose has done a great job with the talent available, developing some great players over the last decade-plus. Who was the best to come to Provo? Find out now in my rankings for best to play for him.
