While it is fun to discuss college basketball, certain fans can ruin the experience for everyone. Who are the most annoying fan everyone will encounter while discussing their favorite sport?

College basketball fans are some of the most passionate fans in the sports world, supporting their team through the ups and downs. Some fan bases are small but loyal, while others are huge, with many joining the bandwagon during their successful years.

However, with all this passion and support comes large fan bases angering and annoying everyone who doesn’t think that their team is the best in the country. Even if their team isn’t the best, fans will find new ways to make their programs accomplishments more impressive.

Some fans are harmlessly obnoxious, some are irritating, and others give people a reason to hate their favorite team (I am looking at you Duke fans). While it may just be some fun banter to some, others take the sport too seriously, and thus give their school’s fan base a bad name.

This list will explore 17 types of fans that you will encounter when watching and discussing college basketball. These are the fans with whom nobody wants to interact, but will inevitably have to at some point.

Of course, the example given are not exhaustive, but a few examples that came to mind when creating this list. If you can think of any schools with fans that fit this criteria, feel free to share. Remember, this is all in good fun, and I even include my own alma mater.
