10. Ryan Taylor Wing, Northwestern

2017-18 stats: 21.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 42% 3pt

After a disappointing season, Northwestern desperately needed to add more talent to their team. Taylor certainly qualifies as a talent boost and could even be the leading scorer on this team. He will team with AJ Turner and Vic Law in a wing-filled starting lineup. PG is a major concern for Northwestern, but playing these long versatile wings could pose matchup problems for opponents. Even if the Wildcats fall short of making the NCAA Tournament, Taylor will be a player to watch.

9. Joseph Chartouny PG, Marquette

2017-18 stats: 12.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, 3.3 spg, 28%3pt

Chartouny is a perfect fit in the Marquette lineup and provides some much needed defense and distributing to the backcourt. He should fit well with Markus Howard who is an explosive undersized scoring guard with unlimited shooting range. Chartouny’s impact on the roster exceeds his ability as player since he fits so well. He is the difference between Marquette being a bubble team and a top 25 team.

8. Ryan Welage PF, Xavier

2017-18 stats: 18.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 88% ft, 43% 3pt at San Jose State

Welage was a standout performer on a bad San Jose State team, but his ability to space the floor will allow for a seamless transition to the tougher competition in the Big East. He will most likely start at PF for Xavier and he is an upgrade from Kaiser Gates (Xavier’s former stretch four). If he can hold his own defensively, it will be impossible to keep Welage off the floor.

7. Keyshawn Woods G, Ohio State

2017-18 stats: 11.9 ppg, 85% ft, 37% 3pt at Wake Forest

Ohio State needed to add veteran talent after losing three starters from last year’s team. Woods is a great fit as the Buckeyes desperately needed another perimeter scorer. He should pair with CJ Jackson in the backcourt and could even play with incoming freshman Luther Muhammad in a small perimeter trio. Woods is a proven double figure scorer at the high major level from his time at Wake Forest and could easily average close to 15 ppg.

6. DeSean Murray PF, Western Kentucky

2017-18 stats: 10.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 84% ft at Auburn

Western Kentucky made a huge splash by landing former Auburn PF DeSean Murray. Murray is extremely undersized for the position, but his aggressiveness and toughness makes him an extremely effective player. He averaged double figures for one of the top teams in the SEC and should make a huge impact in CUSA. The Hilltoppers are the clear CUSA favorites now that Murray is in the fold.
