Oregon Women Basketball: Ducks lead Team USA to 3×3 FIBA World Cup quarterfinals

The Oregon Ducks quintuplets

The Oregon women’s basketball team is representing team USA because they were crowned champions of the 2018 USA Basketball National Championship event in April. The Ducks went 8-0 during the competition, defeating Bye Felicia (6-2) in the finals.

Oregon set a program record by posting a 33-5 record, including 16-2 in conference play, in 2017-18. The Ducks also collected at least a share of their third Pac-12 regular-season crown and first Pac-12 tournament title.

So who are the Ducks?

Sabrina IonescuThe 5-foot-11 point guard was named the Pac-12 player of the year after averaging 19.7 points along with 7.8 assists and 6.7 rebounds in her sophomore campaign. She led the conference in both scoring and assists. Ionescu, named the Nancy Lieberman Award winner, also posted 10 triple-doubles while shooting 46.8% from the field and 43.8% from beyond the arc.

Ruthy Hebard: The 6-foot-4 center was an All-Pac-12 selection. She produced 17.6 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 66.0% from the field. Hebard, who ranked in the nation in shooting percentage, was named the Katrina McClain National Power Forward of the Year.

Erin Boley: The 6-foot-2 forward sat out this past season after transferring from Notre Dame. Boley will have three years of eligibility left.

Oti Gildon: The 6-foot-1 senior forward tallied 4.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 13.9 minutes off the bench. She also shot 59.8% from the field.
