NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Top 10 Junior College Transfers for 2018-19
4. Mason Jones – Arkansas Razorbacks
2017-18 stats: 15.5 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 2.5 apg at Connors State College
Arkansas lost their the team’s entire starting perimeter, so having a ready-made 6’5 guard that can produce offensively is huge. Jones is capable of handling the ball if need be while helping out on the boards. He’s one of six new players coming into the program but will have the most pressure out of the gate.
With potential future lottery pick Daniel Gafford sticking around for another year, the Razorbacks could have the best one-two punch in the SEC with him and Jones for next season.
3. Deshawn Corprew – Texas Tech Red Raiders
2017-18 stats: 12.1 ppg and 5.3 rpg at South Plains College
The unexpected loss of likely first-rounder Zhaire Smith to the NBA hurts the Red Raiders, but Corprew could be the perfect answer as a replacement. After not being able to attend Texas A&M due to academic issues, the 6’6 wing got everything together while improving his game.
Texas Tech likes to throw out different lineups, with wings capable of playing the 2-4 spots on the court. Corprew can drive, as well as shoot the deep ball. With rising sophomore Jarrett Culver still around, this team is still going to compete for a top spot in the Big 12.
