2. Wendell Mitchell – Texas A&M Aggies

2017-18 stats: 19.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 6.5 apg at Trinity Valley College

The former Baylor Bear went to Junior College to expand his game and became the most sought-after prospect in this class. Mitchell can score in a variety of ways while contributing in many other aspects of his game.

He’s able to play both the point and shooting guard, although TJ Starks of the Aggies will likely get the nod as the lead ball handler. The team lost so much talent from the season prior, that Mitchell will have to produce at a high rate, just so Texas A&M can make the NCAA Tournament for another year.

1. Rashawn Fredericks – Cincinnati Bearcats

2017-18 stats: 17.7 ppg and 10.3 rpg at Motlow State

This is a prime example of a player who instead of taking a smaller offer, went the JUCO route and became a must-have prospect. The 6’6 wing has the size and length to play the power forward position, potentially causing huge mismatches for AAC opponents.

Fredericks will replace a player he closely resembles in Jacob Evans, who led the Bearcats this past season in both points and assists. He was one of the best two-way players in the country, an aspect that is still unknown with Fredericks.

For Cincinnati, the team can struggle to score at times. With three of the team’s four double-digit scorers now gone from this past season, the JUCO All-American will be tasked with replacing that kind of production from the wings. How he plays will be the ultimate factor as to whether the Bearcats once again wins the AAC.
