Big Ten Basketball: The Top Players from each team (2000-2018)
By Logan Butts
Rutgers
Starting Five: Quincy Douby, Corey Sanders, Rashod Kent, Hamady Ndiaye, Herve Lamizana
Bench: Todd Billett, Jerome Coleman, Myles Mack
MVP: Douby, by far.
I hope Douby can score 40 points a game. This team makes Nebraska and Northwestern look like legit high NIT or low NCAA level squads.
Wisconsin
Starting Five: Frank Kaminsky, Devin Harris, Jordan Taylor, Alando Tucker, Ethan Happ
Bench: Sam Dekker, Nigel Hayes, Kirk Penney, Bronson Koenig, Jon Leuer, Mike Wilkinson, Trevon Hughes, Kammron Taylor, Brian Butch, Jared Berggren
MVP: Frank the Tank, slayer of undefeated Kentucky (along with Dekker), the best player in the nation in 2015, and potentially the goofiest college basketball star ever.
This is another strong team. The starting lineup is well-balanced and full of stars, and the bench is deep. The Big Ten is really a top half and bottom half league in this experiment, with several strong teams, several bad teams, and only a couple of mediocre teams.
Next: Best Big 12 Players of the Century
Make sure to tune in next time when the Best Players of the Century series covers the Pac 12. Expect a lot of UCLA and Arizona love.
