Conference USA has some great players for next season. One of the best is Roosevelt Smart, a guard from North Texas who looks to make waves in the league.

The University of North Texas out of the Conference USA, have very high expectations this year. Expectations that are perhaps higher than they have ever been before, which were outlined in a previous article. Junior Roosevelt Smart is the main reason that the expectations not only for this year but for future years are higher than ever for the Mean Green.

Smart, who is a Chicago native arrived at North Texas via a Junior College. It took a little bit to get him acclimated to the College game, as he struggled initially during their first power 5 game against Nebraska. But after the initial struggle Smart was a stat stuffer in every way possible. The Mean Green were able to win the CBI tournament last year, as Smart had a big-time performance in the tournament. He averaged over 20 points a game in the tournament.

Smart when teaming up with durable point guard Ryan Woolridge gives the Mean Green a very formidable backcourt. However, the Mean Green are in huge trouble without their star guard. With a year of major basketball under his belt, Smart absolutely has the potential to sneak onto an All-American team.
