There are plenty of NCAA Basketball teams who have yet to win a national championship. Which are the likeliest to accomplish that feat?

While there’s a ton of concern with the perceived lack of parity in the NBA, NCAA Basketball isn’t all that much better. With the Villanova Wildcats winning their second in three seasons, that makes it 10 different teams in the last 20 seasons to cut down the final nets.

That would be 10 teams – out of 350 total throughout Division 1 Basketball. Which means that in the last 20 years, just 3.5% of the programs have been able to obtain the ultimate feeling in the sport.

There’s never expected to be much parity in a sport where the top 30-40 teams get the best players, including the “one and dones”. However, the new era of transfers has seemed to even things out to where more programs now have a chance to not only make a Final Four but win a title altogether.

When it comes to the upcoming 2018-19 season. The odds of history being made are really good. The blue bloods such as Duke and Kentucky are still contenders, as well as the defending champion Wildcats. However, many more are in prime position to win it all as well.

According to our own updated preseason top-25 (after the NBA Draft decisions were made), 17 of the 25 ranked teams have yet to win a national title. A few of those teams were very close, but have yet to do it to this day.

Here is my list of the top teams most likely to win the 2019 national title.
