Reid Travis is the best available player for 2018-19. Will he end up at either the Kentucky Wildcats or the Villanova Wildcats?

In the first couple of months in the college basketball offseason, there are two kinds of pivotal decisions that players will make. One is whether or not to stay in the NBA Draft, with the other being if they’ll stay on their current team, or transfer somewhere else.

Reid Travis of Stanford is the prime example of this, having to make a couple of decisions himself. After leading the Cardinal in scoring and making them competitive the last couple of seasons, the forward entered the 2018 NBA Draft – without an agent.

He waited until right up to the deadline, before deciding to return for his season senior. But before Stanford Basketball fans could get excited about next season, Travis had other plans. He chose to become a grad transfer, which makes him eligible to play without sitting out a year.

When most grad transfers announce that they’re leaving, many teams reach out in the hopes of grabbing them. But Travis’s situation was different, with just two teams in the running for him. They happen to be the Kentucky Wildcats and the Villanova Wildcats.

These teams once again look to be in the national championship picture in 2019 and look for Travis to be the missing piece. Considering that he averaged 19.5 ppg and 8.7 rpg this past season, his pickup will have a tremendous impact throughout the sport.

Here’s what each team would look like in terms of the frontcourt if Travis chooses to go with them.
