Like Florida State, Virginia Tech returns an insane amount of production and is expected to have a breakout season because of it. Seven of the Hokies’ top eight scorers will be back, including four double-digit scorers.

Point guard Justin Robinson (14.0 ppg, 5.6 apg) has the potential to be a first-team All-ACC player and will be the driving force in determining if the Hokies can accomplish special things this season. After all, Virginia Tech did beat Virginia, Duke, and North Carolina last year, showing just how good this group can be.

Head coach Buzz Williams’ squad needs to improve defensively – they ranked just 70th in adjusted defensive efficiency last season – and get better on the glass, something that sunk them against Alabama in the NCAA Tournament.

I don’t think the Hokies have the overall talent to crack the top three in the conference, but anything other than a top-five finish should be viewed as a major disappointment.
