Ohio State Basketball: Buckeyes hosts a number of 2019 and 2020 class recruiting prospects

Ohio State Basketball has had a busy week in terms of recruiting. Here all some of the top prospects the Buckeyes have been going after as of late.

The Ohio State Buckeyes coaching staff hosted a number of recruits recently. 247 Sports Evan Daniels reported that 2020 big man Mo Njie and 2020 point guard Nimari Burnett were among the players that made unofficial visits.

Njie, who is a 6-foot-8 power forward from Centerville (Ohio). The two-star prospect holds scholarship offers from Toledo, Dayton and Xavier. Although he said that Dayton and Ohio State are showing the most interest in him.  Njie saw limited time at Centerville High this past season, averaging just 2.0 and 2.0 rebounds a game.

Njie had an outstanding spring for C2K 16’s AAU program where he dominated the post  Njie also was a major factor on the boards as well as a rim protector during the session.

Burnett is a highly thought of recruit out of Prolific Prep in Chicago. The 6-foot-3 junior has everything that you want in a combo guard. He possesses a good feel for the game, has excellent court vision and is a big-time playmaker. Burnett also has the ability to score from anywhere on the court.

Burnett is drawing the most interest from west coast teams. The four-star recruit holds offers from Cal, Stanford, Fresno State as well as Illinois. Arizona, Michigan and Louisville also has shown interest, but have yet to offer.

Patrick Williams, Sam Williamson, Trey Galloway, Anthony Leal, Grant Huffman and Meechie Johnson were in Columbus this week. Williams and Williamson are from the class of 2019. While Galloway, Leal and Huffman are heading into their junior season in high school. Johnson is just a sophomore.

Williams and Williamson are ranked in ESPN’s top-100 prospects from the class of 2019.

Williams is ranked 46th in the class. The 6-foot-5 wing from Charlotte is reportedly in the midst of cutting down his list of schools. Ohio State, Tennessee, Arizona and Louisville are among the programs that have offered him a scholarship.

Williams averaged 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.8 steals a game as a junior for West Charlotte.

Williamson is a few spots ahead of Williams in ESPN’s rankings at No. 43. Williamson is a 6-foot-8 wing from Rockwell, Texas. Williamson holds more than two dozen scholarship offers per The Columbus Dispatch. Kansas is the likely favorite for his services.

Galloway is a three-star prospect from Culver (Ind.). The 6-foot-1 point guard currently holds offers from Butler, Michigan State and IUPUI.

Galloway is an excellent scorer who also can shoot it well. He is also an exceptional rebounder. Galloway averaged 14.2 points, on 52% shooting including 36% from beyond the arc, and 5.2 rebounds as a  sophomore last season.

Leal is a three-star prospect out of Bloomington (Ind.). He is a clever point guard who has outstanding size, standing at 6-foot-5. Leal is a good shooter who has the ability to create for others and is a good rebounder.

Leal is ranked No. 2 in the state of Indiana by the Indy Star. He currently holds just an offer from Xavier though Indiana is showing major interest. Leal averaged 12.3 points along with 4.5 caroms for Bloomington South a year ago.

Huffman is a 6-foot-3 combo guard from Aurora (Ohio). Huffman, one of the top recruits from the class of 2020 in Ohio, holds offers from Xavier, Duquesne and Miami (Ohio). He is a gifted scorer who can take over a game when he has everything going. An excellent shooter, Hoffman can score pretty much can score from anywhere on the court.
