Shooting Guard

Minutes Allocation (40 total): Geno Crandall (18), Zach Norvell Jr. (20) and Corey Kispert (2)

Crandall is a very good player and will be a great addition for the Bulldogs. He averaged 16.6 ppg and shot 42% from three-point range, with 2.1 spg (1st in the Big Sky in 2018). The 6’2 senior was considered one of the better defenders in the conference as well, and the WCC as a whole isn’t much better from an overall talent perspective.

Still, Norvell is a better overall player. He started as a freshman, scoring 12.7 ppg and shooting 37% from long-range. The 6’5 guard was the most clutch player on the team, making countless timely three-pointers in close games. He was the MVP of the Bulldogs Sweet Sixteen run, including 28 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Ohio State. Norvell’s a capable ball handler in emergency situations as well.

When it comes to the two-guard position, these two can use used for a variety of situations. Norvell is bigger and will be called on more against the athletic and bigger sized perimeter players from the power conferences. Crandall is better suited for the smaller and quicker guards that the WCC has plenty of.

Kispert might be 6’7 but is a great athlete and shooter himself. If Coach Few wants to go with a mega lineup in terms of size, Kispert will play there.
