SG Robby Carmody – Mars, PA

Another backcourt commit for Notre Dame, Robby Carmody will bring a lot of game to South Bend. Specifically, Carmody is a versatile scorer at all three levels who can fill up the basket in a hurry. Ranked at No. 82 in the 2018 recruiting class, Carmody’s talent is no secret. He received several offers from other high majors (as did everyone else on this list) before honing in on becoming a member of the Fighting Irish.

As a scorer, Carmody can finish around the basket or stroke jumpers from beyond the 3-point arc. He brings a prototypical well-balanced scoring repertoire to the table and can get a bucket at seemingly any time. In addition, he has some solid post moves for a guard as he uses his 6-foot-4 frame and creativity to get shots off. As a high school senior, Carmody averaged 31.1 points and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 54.4% from the field (551 FGA), 39.2% from three (194 3PA), and 81.6% from the free throw line (316 FTA).

In addition, though, Carmody brings far more than just scoring to the table. Also in that senior season, the guard posted a ridiculous average of 14.1 boards per game. He is an incredibly instinctive rebounder and seeks out missed shots eagerly. He not only shows off his leaping ability with these boards but also his willingness to chase down loose balls. Furthermore, he also posted some solid defensive numbers with 3.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game.
