NCAA Basketball: Predicting NBA 2K19 ratings for incoming top-10 rookies
C Deandre Ayton, Phoenix Suns
Considering Ayton was the No. 1 overall pick, it makes sense that he would be the top-rated rookie. With his impressive physical attributes as well as his well-rounded offensive game, it will be difficult to find a flaw for Ayton offensively. As a freshman at Arizona this past year, Ayton posted averages of 20.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game while being named the Pac-12 Player of the Year.
While likely hovering near an 80 overall rating to begin the game, he should have solid ratings as a post scorer, stretch big, and even as a penetrator. He could, though, be limited as a passer. Possibly Ayton’s biggest weakness entering the draft was his defense. However, this should be covered up in 2K because of his massive size and athleticism. Even with a poor low-post defense rating, his strength should negate that to an extent.
In addition, a poor block rating can be covered up by a high vertical rating. Ayton is another player that will outplay his rating due to having the right skills to succeed in a video game. If you want to play with young players, Phoenix will be a great choice in 2K19. With Ayton and Bridges coming in as top-10 picks as well as other youngsters including rising star Devin Booker, taking control of this team as a GM could yield dividends in the fantasy world of sports.
Predicted overall rating: 79.

Overall, this top-10 should be extremely fun to play with. With several versatile big men coming in, even the video game world will be revolutionized a bit. Also, it will surely be worth trying out the flashy passes of Luka Doncic and the fading 3-pointers of Trae Young.
